Abishay Basharat, a transgender women and activist from Quetta, Pakistan, is the first transgender person to graduate from BUITEMS University in Balochistan. She is currently a victim support officer at the Women and Juvenile Facilitation Center and the first transgender person to hold an official government position in the police force in Balochistan. She has served in multiple local, national and international organization in various capacities including project supervisor for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). She’s worked with numerous organizations that support minorities, women, transgender people, and those with impairments. She is not only working for empowerment of young transgenders but also young religious minorities.
