Climate Change

Pakistan is one of the vulnerable countries affected by climate change. The typography of the country is dry and falls under the low rain area. The country is facing many environmental difficulties that cause health problems for millions of people. Lack of greenery, cutting trees has given rise to dust in air and that is a big cause of serious allergies nowadays. Plants are a blessing to humans from driving nature. Plantation is also a basic need of humans to live a healthy life. If you look around the world, we see many countries going green and cutting down all the types of environment thus achieving progress in a good Environment. Hi Voices has started campaigns all over Pakistan regarding tree plantation, healthy environment and drastically reducing all types of pollution. Hi Voices is raising awareness among youth of Pakistan including male, female, youth activist, University students, minorities, transgenders on importance of clean and green environment. Volunteers of Hi Voices have planted 200 plus plants and all over the district Multan these plants will be looked after by the youth volunteers of Hi Voices Initiative.

Zero Hunger

In Pakistan, the prevalence of Undernourishment, an important indicator for measuring our progress on SDG² Zero Hunger, has slowly declined to 26m Pakistanis in 2017-2019, from about 33m in 2003-2004. Economic slowdowns due to lockdowns, such as Pakistan experienced in 2019-20, tend to increase poverty, which is closely interlinked with food insecurity.the national nutrition survey 2018 showed that 36.9 percent of the population faces food insecurity. Primarily, this is due to limited economic access by the poorest and most vulnerable group of the population – particularly women – to an adequate and diverse diet. The survey also showed the second highest rate of malnutrition in the region with 18 percent of children under 5 suffering from acute malnutrition, around 40 percent of the children in the same age group are stunted and 29 percent are underweight.Hi Voices aims to end all forms of hunger and malnutrition by 2030 followed by SDGs, making sure all people, especially children have sufficient and nutritious food all year.

Gender Equality:

Gender gap in Pakistan refers to the relative disparity between male, female and transgenders citizens in Pakistani society along key indicators and aspects of life. Gender inequality has existed for a long time but currently it has generally threatened the security of the Country. Hi Voices have designed activities and taken initiative to promote Gender equality awareness among youth of Pakistan. The designed activities will be implemented through participatory approaches by engaging and trained young community volunteers under the supervision of Hi Voices. To engage communities to discharge their social responsibilities through promoting gender equality among young male female and transgenders.

Hi Voices is running women rights campaigns on digital media, arranging gender equality sessions, empowering transgenders, highlighting empowered womens of different faiths, countries and religions.

Responsible Consumption and Production

Unfortunately, plastics account for 65 per cent of the total waste in Pakistan; 55bn plastic bags are being used in the country with an expected annual increase of 15 per cent in their usage. Immediate and effective steps are required to curtail the usage of plastics in order to save our country and our planet. Hi Voices is contributing its portion by running cleaning drives and recycling of plastic and other toxic waste

Clean Water and Sanitation

The Government of Punjab commitments, it is noted that nearly one-third of the population Lacks access to improved drinking water. Data show that sanitation facilities are available to only 46 % of the population overall with 34% of the urban and 67% of the rural population lacking access to any sanitization facilities. The growing water scarcity issue has been effecting the life of people. The issue will get worse in the upcoming time. The water uses practices at community level are lacking social responsibility. The water users at household level are not least sanitized on growing water scarcity and its crisis in future. Hi Voices have taken the initiative to build the capacity of Pakistan youth to aware, improve and provide clean water in minority areas by involving minorities and general population youth and placing hand wash soaps at worship places of different beliefs. Hi Voices have taken this initiative by keeping focus on one of the alarming situations. Clean water and sanitation are paid less attention in the area where community resilience towards changing climate and social cohesion lacks required support to address the issue.

Good Health and Well-being

Health of marginalized young key populations is the main priority of “Hi Voices”. Hi Voices has been advocating for HIV/AIDS awareness since its formation. We are focused on young vulnerable key populations which are usually discriminated against and stigmatized based on their identity.

  • We are working with Aurat Raaj for women’s health by providing awareness of menstrual health  and menstrual hygiene particularly under Raaji initiative.
  • We are working with Youth LEAD Asia Pacific network of Young Key Populations for the health & rights of young key populations in Pakistan.

Quality Education

Education is a primary cause of many issues around us. Quality and accessible education can resolve many issues related to young minorities. Most of the young minorities drop out of their schools at a very early age. Which results in minorities unable to get equal opportunities. We are focused on the education of young community members

Peace, justice and Strong Institutions:

Pakistan is currently facing several distinct but inter-related conflicts. International interventions in Pakistan and the surrounding region have also contributed to instability. Terrorism and the ‘war on terror’ have been costly for Pakistan – both in terms of human loss and economic costs. Since 2002, more than 50,000 people have died due to terrorism, and the economic economic cost is estimated to be around US$120 billion.

Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels. Compassion and a strong moral compass is essential to every democratic society.Hi Voices in actively engaged with its partners on peace building activities among young minorities.
