HiVoices’ Tayyab Hussain and the Hifazat Theatre Workshops
HiVoices is proud to celebrate the participation of its member, Tayyab Hussain, in the transformative Hifazat Theatre Workshops. Over three impactful days, participants delved into the power of theatre to raise awareness about pressing social issues in Pakistan, such as gender inequality, early marriage, and reproductive health, with a particular focus on gender-based violence (GBV).
Under the expert guidance of trainers Mam Fiza and Sir Safeer, participants honed their acting and scriptwriting skills. These workshops provided a platform for individuals to transform personal narratives into compelling performances, highlighting the importance of these critical issues. The mentorship from Theatre Wallay further enriched the experience, equipping participants with the tools needed to create meaningful and impactful theatre.
The workshops were not just about learning new skills; they were about empowering individuals to become advocates for change. By turning personal stories into powerful performances, participants are now prepared to bring these narratives to local communities in Multan. This initiative aims to foster a deeper understanding and dialogue around the issues of gender inequality, early marriage, and reproductive health, ultimately contributing to a more informed and empathetic society.
